I'm not up to date with dosbox since it doesn't work very good on linux (well, it does but it's a cpu-heater compared to dosemu).
Well, that leaves you with M.A.X. and out of sync as usual I'd say.
Duke started a project to analyze the IPX traffic to repeat messages in case they are lost but I didn't hear any news about that. Actually I don't even think that the out of sync is caused by a lost message. I'd put my money simply on "forgotten" messages that are never sent.
