Hi, I was the host on my laptop attached to my works network via wireless (which is the slowest part of the link here) so I would have had 20-54 mbps.
My opponant was on his home DSL connection (I should think 4-6 Mbps down / 800 Kbps up)
We used hamachi to create a tunnel for connecting.
I agree that the logs advise it completed but he just couldn't complete the transfer - I will endever to try again with the downloader on a LAN while I am present to provide further details.
Edit - Beko knew we were going to test the custom map downloader.
