Subject: Re: Poll: My favorite played map SIZE is...
There will me more smaller maps in the future, allready workin on that... . ;-) Now we got some experiences on bigger maps. And 2 Players on a 256x256 isnt a good idea. On UK, IceLand or french coast shouldn't be an option on a 1vs1. UK+Ireland only, you can make some rules before getting started Wink . AND as you can see, the suggested ampunt of players is at least 4-10. Innocent

THX for the feedback. Its important to me what you think and what you want.

I would say 256x256 is maximum mapsize ever. If there was NO or very, very SLOW research on bigger maps, there could be nice long games. But if theres such a fast research you send off your army in stone age and they arrive at enemy base at post modern age. Bigger maps are good for seek and hide and having the possibility to dodge enemy attacks.

64 of 92 squares would be ideal allow for earlier contact and keep the presure / combat on (do maps have to be square or can we do for example 64x128?)

64? The original maps are 112x112. 64 would be roundabout one TFT-screen wide at normal zoom, way to small. I think 112²-128²-196² are just fine. At the moment rectangular maps are not supported by the software, but in future sure will be possible. Its on the list somewhere... .
64x256 could be interesting some day.
