Subject: A project's name is it's identity
A project's name is it's identity

Hi folks. This is something I simply want to make clear. Our little clone project here starts to become famous. That's primary a good thing. However when I check with e.g. a search engine or whenever I see a newsfeed about MAXR I'm puzzled once in a while. During the founding we had no clear statements in our ABOUT or other readmes distributed with MAXR and while the project name itself was firm from the beginning everbody used his own shortcuts. However we changed that long long ago consequently in all files[1]. So if you spread the word (or see others spreading the word) keep the following things in mind:

 • The project's shortcut is M.A.X.R. (often referred as maxr because extra dots suck on the net or as filenames)
 • The project's name is Mechanized Assault and eXploration Reloaded (use maxr if that's to long for you)
 • MM is not the author of M.A.X.R. . He wrote the first version called MM's MAX 2 years ago and stopped developing it any further.
 • M.A.X.R.s' codebase has almost nothing in common with MM's MAX any more. We're even breaking up with the aged structures.
 • M.A.X.R. is the result of the hard work of the people mentioned in the AUTHORS file, the translators and many many more people of this very community (including MM of course).

So please stop referring to maxr as "MAX R" (you see that blank? no blank there!), MAX Reloaded, M.A.X. Reloaded, MM's MAX or whatsoever and don't write that MM is the author of this. He is not. Please RTF-READMEs from time to time and if you see people blogging such rubbish talk to them and show them that they're wrong.

Thanks for reading Have a look-around
