My English isn't perfect but I try to drop a statement, too.
About cars - I know many people who hate automatic gearbox, because we want "fun" when we are driving (especially men).
I think there are not many countries with no global speed Limit at freeways. So you can drive the good German cars (Porsche etc.) the fast as you can on some freeways.
I think our mechanical engineering technology is very good. Our machines for production etc. are globally popular.
Also we export very many goods. 2003 - 2008 we were world export champion. 2009 it was China
