Subject: Original MAX Cheats - Help Needed
Hi everybody!
I have a miserable problem. Since original MAX can be run only in emulators nowadays such as DosBOX (I use this), Cheat codes cannot be entered. Or at least I can not enter them. The problem is, that I remember from the old times (back when I used Dos/Win95 Dos Mode to run this game), that I could only enter the cheats in square brackets, as it is also stated everywhere on the net. But since the emulator-era, I cannot type the square brackets in-game... thus I cannot type the cheat codes.
I know, I know, don't tell me, that it ruins gameplay and bla-bla, I just want to make this going. I know its miserable to cheat in such a good game, but still, if anybody can help me typing the cheat-codes in original DosBOX(!) M.A.X. game, please tell me how to!
I tried Alt+F; AltGr+F; Alt+91; Ctrl+Shift+F but none worked...
Try [maxsurvey] for example. That's what I wanted in the first place... (or try any other: [maxspy], [maxstorage], [maxsuper], [maxammo]; these five were the cheats for the original MAX)
(Note: In the original game you could only see the codes after you typed the first two-three characters, so just typing the bracket did not show up on screen, just after typing the bracket and at least one or two letters as well (like this: [m ))
Can You help me with this? (I don't really want to set up a virtual computer with a win95 on it just to get the cheats working...) (...but this is the very last, final solution)
