if the host choose a map, all client (players) download the map automatically (if the map are missing on the client)
i'm playing with the latest svn version 3236 (not the last release)
u can download it here from maxr.org or with severel maps included on http://www.dunecoop.de/MAXR/MAXR_3236.zip (my webspace - if u start the game, the sound is german but the text is english by default - u can overwrite the german soundfiles with the resinstaller and the original max cd)
