Subject: Re: MAX 3D Tech Demo in Unity
Hello M.A.X. fan community,

Wanted to try launching M.A.X. on an Android phone using DOSBox, but that absolute mouse aiming has an offset because of original relative mouse movement. Guess that is not gonna be possible to play.

But recreating M.A.X. would be interesting. I don't know of other similar M.A.X. games. M.A.X. could use some updates to the interface and maybe even create a optional hexagon map mode. It is possible and easy in Unity to switch to an isometric camera view. A hybrid 2D/3D M.A.X. could be made that would make it crossplatform on PC and Mobile, adjusting graphical settings according to specs.

Though I am more in it for the Single Player, so if it isn't possible to request Interplay for a non-commercial use of parts of M.A.X. source, 3D models and code, then adding AI would be a pain.

Then again I am leaving my profession as a Web Developer towards Game Development, yet I have not made/published a single game. Have been tampering with Unity for years though.

BTW your Linux version of the tech demo works. Though I was surprised that I also controled the Surveyour not just the camera, thought why it was running away from me. Laughing
