This is from a debug game this night with eiko, beko, Andy, Meira, waldo, rogual. After some starting problems (we found a ton of new bugs) we finally managed to start the game itself too. As you can see we played until Eiko reached 200 points with his spheres. He managed to hide himself proper in the corner while I was busy with Meira not seeking any further. Eiko and Meira had both the same color (that's still possible, yes) so I always thought it's Meira coming into my back when Eiko showed up to check my base.

It was a funny game with a lot of small old school skirmish (without death from above or super missle crawlers.. you know what I mean) testing our latest and last missing feature: the ecospheres. Thanks to all testers that night that took the time for this and didn't leave early when we needed over 1 hour to get the match itself running.

I found the game to be very humorous. For me it was more interesting as a sociological observation of the players rather than an exhibition of the new code. Including watching the other players patiently wait to start one game, the trash talk that occurred, and the inability to form a unified front against the leading player. I think the funniest moment was my inability to tell the color of the players apart and kept attacking one player thinking he was another.

In the end I am not sure if this was a good map for this type of game. I think it would better to play on one large island thus allowing any player to attack the leading player. Otherwise it was a fun game, although short.

You mean it was plain obvious that we just played for fun instead trying to win desperately or find bugs? Laughing

Edit: I changed the colors a little bit today in SVN. This should help to differ the units better from each other. Also is the "P"layer button missing in SVN right now. This button is most important because it shows the player colors of each player too. you're right of course. The color stuff needs polish Happy

I believe that I was referring to the ability to click on a unit and have the owner displayed in the stats window.

Perhaps another idea would be to make the announcement of units color coded, ie player x is red so if his tank is spotted then the word tank on the announcement could be color coded. Same amount of text, more information. Just one idea.

Uhm, I may have forgotten to answer but I implemented this some weeks ago. The owner of each unit is now reported in the unit's name right beside it's coordinates on the map.
