Hey Hey,

I am Kash Ryan and I am new to MAXR. I have been a fan of the game since original release. I am so happy I have found a way to play the game again. I have MAXR Running on Vista right now, except I have a few minor problems that would add to my comfort if solved. So please any help would be fantastic.

Problems:

1) Screen size will not adjust. It tells me to restart the game for changes to take effect and then nothing changes after restart.

2) The only vehicle that provides sound is my surveyor , no other implement of the game provides sound nor does the music work.

3) My game will not save ( I may be doing this wrong but i doubt it)

I do Have the original MAX Disk, but I can't install because Vista is 64 bit and as we know , the disk is not compatible.

Any so;utions to any of these problems will be of great help to me.

Thank you

Hi Kash Ryan and welcome to the bbs Smiling

About 1) and 3): I guess you have installed maxr into the standard programms directory of windows (C:\Programm Files\). This doesn't work correctly since a normal user has no writing access in this folder. So you have to run maxr as administrator (right-click on the exe and run as administrator) or you have to install it into an other directory. We will fix this in the next release.

About 2): we do not provide all sounds yet. What you hear is all. But since you have an original MAX-CD you can extract the sounds and graphics from there to maxr using the tool "resinstaller" (just start the tool "Visual-Resinstaller" in the installation folder of maxr and choose the paths.)

And then have fun with the game Wink

But do not forget to start the resinstaller as adiminstrator as well Wink

I'm not sure about the resinstaller thingy itself Eiko. The problem *might* be the disk itself. It's possible that 64bit vista can't read the disc format itself any more. I hope I'm wrong on this. Please report!

Perhaps we should add that to the FAQ. I know about 3 other guys that had this problem Shy
