Subject: stack planes on same field In the org MAX it was possible to stack planes on the same field. I want to implement this in maxr now. Does anyone know whether there was a limit on how much planes can be on one position? And what happens, when someone fires on the position? Is the highest plane hit? Or all? Or randomly? It is not possible to send a plane directly on the position of an other plane, right? Only when it happens, that one planes runs out of movemant points, it can stop over an other plane. How can individual planes of a stack get selected? I the maxr mouse style they would be cycled with the right mouse button. How is this in the original? Anything else I need to know about this feature? |

Subject: Re: stack planes on same field mmhhh, i'm not sure if this feature is really that good, yeah, perhabs there are some new tactics to distract your enemy, you can hide hundreds of plans at one field... BUT, i think it's totally unrealistic and some other problem, you can't stack for example defenseunits against planes, so i find this feature quite unfair against the defense, just stack enough plans in one field... that sounds too easy for me with that option plans would be overpowered, because if you can't break a defense line with other units... just taking plans would be the comon reaction one (good) possibilty would be, if you could limit the number of stackable planes, like you can maximal stack up to 10 plans on one field for example, or something like that (not all things in the orginal version were perfect ![]() |

Subject: Re: stack planes on same field I agree with Rocky. It's totally unrealistic as well. Ask someone who works at the airport towers. Stacking planes? Haha ![]() A limit of 10 air units per field looks like a good solution to me. |

Subject: Re: stack planes on same field The main issue, with planes that can't fly over another is, that the paths are planed with a big detour, when a group of planes is in the way. That's why I want to see this feature in maxr. Regarding the limit per field: I totally agree with your arguments. I would also be happy with a 2 planes. I think 10 planes per field are already very powerful. What do think about setting the limit to 5? Everyone ok with this? And thanks again for testing, fyzzo ![]() |

Subject: Re: stack planes on same field yeah, 5 are fine by me, 2 would be also enough, i don't need this feature to attack, with my memory i would probably forget about if there were more then one plan on a field anyway ![]() |

![]() 4-5 Planes-limit is fine. 2 would be a bit too little I think. ^^ |

Subject: Re: stack planes on same field To stack planes to avoid detours seems a good idea, being able to stack planes for tactical reasons ( without being out of movement points) complexifies tactics without any benefit for the gameplay imho. Is there any reason btw why planes don't beeline to their destination like in the original, in stead of horizontal en then diagonal or vice versa? Would reduce the times one flies into air defenses haphazardly ![]() |

Yeah, I don't like that behaviour, too. I made a ticket 2 years ago... "Path finding should make preferably a straight line and not first vertical/horizontal and then diagonal." (Ticket 242) |
