Subject: MAX played on windows 95 No emulation! for comparing purpose. http://youtu.be/GUt_GFDq6E0 The animation speed and movement might be interesting (" LOOK BEKO LOOK!" :P ) |

Subject: Re: MAX played on windows 95 What's your point? Do I have to capture my Linux Desktop with a camera as well? It works just neat and smooth for me. I do not know what your problem is nor can I fix it. Edit: I also still do not see a ticket from you on the bugtracker for whatever is going wrong so don't blame maxr if something is off and isn't fixed in years. |

Subject: Re: MAX played on windows 95 Hahaha , a common answer from you beko. Yes, pls capture your maxr linux version, to see the difference. I will make some tickets, I promise. The point was to show the animation speed, the smoothness. There is a difference. I just wanted to make sure its running not emulated, with no speed ups or other emulation issues. |

Subject: Re: MAX played on windows 95 of course there is a difference.. it's another engine and we know that the rendering sucks still: what is your point? |

Subject: Re: MAX played on windows 95 I believe that the animation speed can be changed? Afaik its not about the fps, its more the speed rate maxr is using for the animations. I already said what my point is. I don't think the rendering sucks, it might be not as efficient so far, but it looks damn sharp with a higher resolution. I will make a ticket, look at the video as a reference point, that's at least enough for me. Oh and it runs windows 95 from a usb stick :P So yeah, its a show off, as ususal. |

Subject: Re: MAX played on windows 95 Animation speed is not comparable with the original, because I think, that the original speed is not constant, but depents on the CPU speed. At least it looks much faster in the video, than it was on my old Win95 PC. But you are right, the vehicles are driving much smoother in the org. They accelerate and break smoothly. That's something we haven't implemented. But, as beko said, feel free to open a ticket for that. |

Subject: Re: MAX played on windows 95 Quote by Eiko: You are right and you said it yourself. Now it seems that the animation is spe(e?!)d up. I think there has to be a animation speed cap in the original MAX? I can't imagine it was tight with the CPU speed to match a calculated speed. Rather the CPU was limiting the experience back then, why we should make it lag on purpose? Animation speed is not comparable with the original, because I think, that the original speed is not constant, but depents on the CPU speed. At least it looks much faster in the video, than it was on my old Win95 PC. I could build up a 266 Mhz (with64 mb of ram) win95 machine in no time to proof that it was still running faster, though it has only 266 Mhz CPU. Some tests with dosbox might help too To have a screen video helps. And yes, I will open a ticket, its just so full of a lot of other things, and I don't have the overview yet. Nevertheless, I will do it So Eiko, is it possible to speed up the animation ate to match it with the video? Thanks for the patience |

Subject: Re: MAX played on windows 95 Can't edit my Post: If someone wants to see it http://youtu.be/T550nQ-BAMs I think less than 25000 is not recommended - the "thinking" of the Units is slower and it gets laggy when you scroll, but the most movements are still smooth. |
