Hello Team MAXR,

I made (my first) simple video-demonstration of all the functionalities and gameplay of your latest MAXR 0.2.8. / r3039 build!
Personally i played M.A.X. extensively back in 1996 so i'm very happy to see the work you are doing.
I'll try to make more video's later on - which hopefully will help MAXR reach out across the world.

Mayhap you should choose a lower resolution while playing. The gfx mode you're using is not officially supported and the glitches are obvious. Also you can't see many of the tiny details in the compressed youtube video.

..and you should definitely put some recorded speech on it describing what you're doing and thinking when you do this and that.. Smiling

Yes, the (high) resolution does have some drawbacks.
I like to show people that MAXR does support those higher resolutions, which personally i really like.
But you indeed will loose some detail due to scale, recording and compression.

This was just a first test video to see how this works.

If i can, i will continue with a full tutorial about the game and how it works.
A lot of people i know would really like/appreciate this.
(Unfortunately, my English speech isn't that great.. hopefully i can get it good enough)

Thx for the feedback anywayz!

Which resolution did you use? Ive never seen a "original" Button above the 1080p on youtube Grinning

I like the fact, that you see everything pretty good on full screen and have a nice quality.
But maybe a 720p recording is enough in the future for videos, so mostly everyone can see every detail without buffer-waiting.

I used the MAXR windowed mode and selected the area by hand (square)
The original size i picked apparently was some pixels too large.
(working on a 30"monitor here with 2560x1600 Grinning )

Recording with the most common program (Fraps) didn't really work out here.
I had to use another desktop-recorder.

720p is just a kinda low i think.
More and more, probably even most (PC) gamers play on 1080p
I'll try a 720p just to check how it looks with recording and compression.
Maybe i can alter some recording settings to get a little more detail.

Hello Sal,

Thanks for your reply.
I will try and make some sort of tutorial video with (understandable) English speech.
For now i have a second test video, captured at 1366x768.

Is this one better view-able and preferable?

PS. i also found a guy on YouTube already with tutorials video's on the (original) MAX game.
Check http://www.youtube.com/...ery=m.a.x.
Strangely these vid's don't show up in the results on YouTube, but apperantly there are more video's about MAX.
