Subject: Violation error in randomizer - and trouble loading maps

This is in response to a quote

For all who want to create BIGGER ( or smaller ) random maps !
You can do it here! ... and this is the English version http://www.rumaxclub.ru/...mizere.zip
Got a violation error? extract it somewhere else Wink
Thanks to the authors Artlav and http://www.rumaxclub.ru !
enjoy!

Has anyone been able to use this successfully? Where do you extract it to? I've tried various places and always get error when clicking "randomize."
Error Title: "MAXGold map Randomizer"
Access violation at address 0045D1C7 in module 'mgarnd.exe'. Read of address 00000000.

So... has anyone got it working and if so, how did you?

Also, I've tried downloading some maps from:
http://www.maxr.org/showtopic.php?id=420&page=1

...but they are not working with Original MAX (v1.02, 1.03, or 1.04). If applied, then there is black screen at map selection, and if selected, game starts to load but freezes about 3/4 of the way (also, it does not properly display preview while loading either). So... are these maps only for MAXR?

Hey there!

The randomizer indeed works. I just downloaded the Russian version, extracted it to C:\randomizer and created a map. If you tick the "MaxClassic"
option in the generator, it also works with the original max ( I used the GoG version and also have the max demo engineer in my max.res Grinning )

Hi and bye =)

P.S. I also had issues with the English version. I am not sure what causes the issues, but I figured it was the paths or something similar ( kill me if I am wrong )

Edit.
I am not sure about the other Maps. They might be maxr only.

Does original MAX support maps with size other than 112? Maybe thats the reason, why our maps don't work. The file format itself should be exactly the same as the original.
