Subject: Landing Location question. Hi, We're been having a lot of issues with landing locations being very close together. Especially with many players on big maps. As no-one wants to play like that, we sometimes have to start over a lot of times ![]() I allways thought that yellow circles should'nt overlap, or at least the yellow circle should'nt overlap the red circle of the other players. But apparently, as you can see in the attached screenshot, only the red circle overlap is taken into account. That's only 10 tiles between each other units ![]() Is that intended behaviour or a bug? Then what is the function of the yellow circle? Also, is it possible to change the those values for more distance on big maps? (And how, please...) Btw, looking forward to the pending release of 0.2.9 ![]() |

Subject: Re: Landing Location question. Distance is iirc hard coded. You can change this but you have to recompile the game (and all players as well). Feel free to change this and submit a patch to read this from settings. The yellow circle should get you a (text and audio) warning but you can still accept by clicking again. Only the red circle is prohibited and players are forced to pick another location. |

Subject: Re: Landing Location question. Hey form the other side of the word, and then… there is an issue (#528) for it and yes it's currently hardcoded, and no it looks like a standard map (112×112)… large maps are like 256×256 or bigger ![]() For anything else "let me search that for you" (no google — sorry ![]() |

Subject: Re: Landing Location question. Additional hint: Not the overlap of the circles are checked, but the distance of the players. So if the red has a radius of 10 tiles, then the stating location of the other player must be at least 10 tiles away. Although the circles would overlap in this case. |

Subject: Re: Landing Location question. Hmm, must have seemed a stupid question to coders ![]() But, I guess somehow, as a non-coder, i figured it out, thanks to the "google" tip ![]() |
