Subject: (EE): No success probing for data folder! Hi everyone, I'm back. I've downloaded the latest nightly build for linux, but could not run it. These are the error messages: (EE): No success probing for data folder! (EE): Missing a file needed for game. Check log and config! (EE): Error while loading data! There is a data folder in the maxr folder. The error messages don't say under which path the data folder is expected. What am I missing? |

Subject: Re: (EE): No success probing for data folder! Try to set $MAXRDATA as described in https://git.maxr.org/...d-on-linux Might be an issue with special characters in path as well. Please open a ticket it the problem persists. |

Subject: Re: (EE): No success probing for data folder! Ok thanks, I could successfully run maxr with MAXRDATA=data ./maxr I would like to make a few suggestions: 1. Have maxr look in the current working directory for the data directory before throwing an error. 2. The maxr builds on the front page are very old, I think. Link to the page with the nightly builds in a new post. I found them by reading random posts in the forum. Mention the MAXRDATA=data workaround for linux as well. 3. Link to gitlab prominently on the front page. I wasn't even aware there is a gitlab before clicking the link you just provided. The first point is something I could look into myself, if you would appreciate a patch. The other points I guess I don't have the necessary privileges to do them myself. |
