Subject: Original M.A.X. 1.03 patch
My first post here. I have followed your forums for a while even I haven't downloaded the M.A.X. Reloaded. It's interesting to follow what you are doing and I like it.

I joined your IRC channel and after a while of talking with Beko I heard that 1.04 patch makes the AI very lame. It doesn't fight against each other anymore. When I very young and didn't understand anything at English, I just used to watch how the AI fought against each other and I liked it a lot. I miss that feature in the games which are released nowadays. They don't have an option where you can just watch the game and you don't have to be involved in it.

Anyway, I don't like the way how the AI works in the 1.04 version of the game and that's why I'm asking for the 1.03 patch. I want to have more action again and I want to see that AI fighting against each other again so it would be once again 1 vs. 1 vs. 1 and not 1 vs. 2 or 1 vs. 3. That's just lame. So does anyone have that patch?

English version.

Good luck. Neither Google nor Yahoo helped on that one. But would you really want to play if the game crashed %100 of the time by turn 50?

At least it is more interesting than playing against lame opponents.

How comes your 100% crash at turn 50? I played it several times with 1.03 way longer..

I am supposing there was a memory leak - it's been 11 or 12 years, after all!

The CD I have has 1.02 on it, but not 1.03; I'm not sure if they only change maxrun.exe or not. Maybe I'll see you in IRC to see if that would help.

Here you go max103.zip-> http://www.zshare.net/download/179443639a99eeac/

or here here http://www.sal4.de/new/max103.zip

Yes, with the patch 1.04 they made the AI less powerful. The dont fight each other...hehe the good old times ;D

Have fun
Welcome to the boards!

edit: Oh and yes, they usually only changed the maxrun.exe and the readme's/log's

That's very good!

I had to hunt for a while to find the english 1.04 patch, and I also found a pdf manual (at 13 megs, it's bigger than the PCX manual that is on my CD).

Thank you for the patch. Smiling I'll apply it when I can because I have to go to the army again today so I'll just try to enjoy myself rest of this day. Also shaktazuki, what kind of your manual is? Mine is only around 5,5MBs big and it is in PDF format too.

I guess my PDF manual was made out of the PCX manual on the CD, which is just pictures of the manual pages (not including the cover). Good luck in the Army.
