Subject: Re: MVE player of interest?
It would be nice to run the MVEs while waiting for stuff to load at the beginning, maybe.

I already converted the MVEs into MPGs with XINE and FFMPEG. For some reason XINE does the audio real nice but the video's screwed. FFMPEG does the video real nice but the audio's screwed. Something wrong with my codecs obviously. I muxed them back together and VOILA! The submarine one was the hardest, I couldn't get the video and audio to sync properly.

Hi mdooligan,
sorry for replying that late. I wasn't sure whether you wanted an answer or just tell us your opinion Wink There was a discussion about playing the movie during file-loading but the idea has been dropped. I'm not sure about the reasons any more but I think there was a design problem about the way SDL is initiated during that splash and the video. So basically a hack for this would be welcome. Jafuli did a good job on the mve player implementation so there is no problem to play the original mve (if it has been installed by the resinstaller, of course) Smiling
