Everyone who kows and likes MAX will know about the crashes that take place from about round 120 on.

I think I have found a cure for it.

When the red writings appeared, I made a screenshot and was able to find out that theres DOS/4GW involved (it crashed).

So I searched the web for newer version of it - found it - downloaded it and replaced the original (even the new file was much smaller).

I did this before I started my current game, and I'm on round 280 now without any problems.

I'll continue the game and tell if it worked until round 999 (The turn limit I set)

Hey I replaced the file once for some "win95 hdd less boot cd with ramdisk" stuff ( for max) , but I didnt test it for a long run.
What about the multiplayer? Is there any change? Maybe it could fix alot of things for us.

I will run some tests on my 32 bit system, thanks for the info. There were not much news lately about MAX.

Where you come from ? Would you mind to uplaod a save game, I would be fun to take a look.

I can't seem to be able to test multyplayer until I have successfully enthused my friends again and had a LAN.

I use WinXP and VDM Sound to run MAX.

I'm from Reinheim. Its a small town 20km south of Darmstadt, germany.

I'd like to upload my savegame, but I'll need to find out how to do a upload to this board first *g*.

I'll keep you informed about my game.

Ich hab' auf jedem Fall Bock auf 'ne LAN, aber Mönchengladbach ist doch ein >bisschen< weit.

Habe mich übrigens geirrt. Ich habe jetzt erst Runde 172 erreicht. Hatte auch einen Crash, aber keiner mit Roten Zahlen und Buchstaben, sondern ein einfacher CTD. Die Autosave-Datei war auch nicht kaputt - ich konnte einfach neu laden. Also noch kein Beinbruch wenn es nicht alle 3 Runden passiert (war ein Einzelfall bis jetzt).

Da ich keinen eigenen Webspace habe ist das mit dem irgendwo hochladen und verlinken nicht so einfach. Ich kann die Dateien aber per E-Mail versenden.

Ich hab' noch ne blöde Frage:
Ich würde gerne ein paar Screenshots machen, aber ich kann weder über [DRUCK|S-Abf] und danach Einfügen in ein Grafikprogramm noch über Fraps screenshots machen - wahrscheinlich wegen der DOS Umgebung. Kann mir da jemand auf die Sprünge helfen?

Äh Korrektur: Ich bin nicht bei Runde 172 sondern bei Runde 272...

Ganz ehrlich. Max ist die Krone des TBS, aber die Musik finde ich so unprickelnd, daß ich sie immer abschalte...

Zu ärgerlich, daß ich hier keine Bilder von der Festplatte hochladen kann. Hätte gerne mal mit meiner Riesenbasis und meinem Mörder-U-Boot geprahlt...

Paar files sind da schon, auch paar gesuchte, aber nicht sehr uptodate.

Die Musik ist doch wirklich gut und stimmig, vermittelt Atmosphere und passt genau zu MAX, finde ich zumindest.
