Bei dem Spiel war ich quasi als "dedicated Server" dabei und hab am Ende nachdem mich Choco weggepustet hat und alles aufgedeckt wurde auch noch nen Screen gemacht wo man die Basen beider Spieler sieht. Echt krank, was da an Verteidigung und Minen gebaut wurde oO

First "one on one" game between Nager and me (Pagra). Well I lost. But it was a very fun game.
And first game with research centers.
I could fight off Nager's early bomber attacks quite well and thought he would concentrate on air force (like many times before as I read in this thread). From time to time Nager sent some planes and offered them to me (or I should say to my air defence) as a present. So no threat from this side. What I didn't know is, that he built some nasty submarines that then surprisingly and effectively hindered my further expansion for additional mines on the sea.
My plan was to make heavy armored tanks (around a dozen) and waltz through his base (which was at the opposite site of the map). This worked well at first. I had a good laugh when his bombers tried to fire on my tanks and did only about 2 damage Cool But then I descovered his Gunboats that were equally well armored and controlling the inner sea. They rushed after my tanks and eventually got them directly before one of his mining complexes. As my tanks were significantly slowed down by a large upgraded mine belt, I only saw his first mining station when all tanks were one by one shot down by the heavy Gunboats. Then the Gunboats came to my base...
My meanwhile accomplished air superiority didn't help because I could not apply my fat bomber upgrades (that could have made a difference with the gun boats) to my fleet due to a missing hangar... Bad luck. So he shot down my base and was the winner...

Game versus hammerer77 on March 23rd. After initial attempts to gain sea dominance failed I decided to try a dual attack with Gun Boats and Tanks (via air drops). It took me a couple of turns longer than anticipated but worked very well.

Game vs. pagra with SVN 2076 (see three posts above for pagra's viewpoint).

Good scouting from the beginning of the game onward prevented a possible defeat here. Upgraded tanks are evil - but so are upgraded Gun Boats. Well played, pagra, considering that this was your second proper game against a human player. Wink

This was the first game with working Research Centers and they were working very well indeed. Despite all the new features the game still runs surprisingly stable, although we had some issues with severe lag throughout the game (attack jobs stalling for 5-10 seconds, clicks not being registered by the game - see first screenshot). It also has to be noted that I didn't manage to crash the game by excessively making use of unit grouping (which *sort of* works). Wink

Hi Folks,

well, I haven´t been here for quite a looooong time and I´m realy satisfied about the progress of this projetct! Well done! I always talk about M.A.X. und about the pitty of crashing games between round 400-500. So I started reading again und downloaded the MAXR.exe last night. Well and as I had company of my pal Dr.Doom, who´s a great fan of M.A.X., we tried a multiplayer Game using my Laptop, too. Well...what was expected just to be a "short look" ended up at 0420 last night. We possibliy would be still playing, if we hadn´t some work to do and needed some sleep.

We played until about round 130 I think. The only real thing missing, was the research. Now I read about working research here today. How´s the last state about that feature?

I have two little suggestions to make:

1. Choosing the original 8 different parties at the beginning with their individuall skillings shouldn´t be that difficult to implement?

They´re just ready configurated presets, that can easily been copied from the original game. Would be great if the logo of each party would be availible on the miningstation. Everybody should know, who he´s dealing with! ;-)

2. A technical thing I noticed was, that if I have picked up a vehicle wirth that cargoplane, I couldn´t move the plane anymore. So I had to unselect the cargoplane by selecting any other structure or vehicle nearby, (or right mousebutton) and reselect the cargoplane again.
It just was a little confusing dealing with a bunch of cargoplanes and a load of 3, thats 3times loading * number of cargoplanes = uncomfortable.

3. Gunturrets, that are connected to the base, can´t be reloaded through the structure. I still need a supply-truck. It´s not a big deal to implement that, is it? =o)

There are many slight improvements, compared to the original, controlling the Game I noticed, like scrolling the screen by Mousewheel. It doesn´t cut the feeling of the original game and gives us an usefull improvement!

So, where do I get that new Research/Upgrade-Version and who want´s to die first on the battlefield?

thanks for the enthusiastic feedback (although this thread might not be the perfect place for it). Innocent
The research feature currently is only available in the developer version. Probably we will make a release in near future. But meanwhile you have to come into the IRC-Chat and ask Eiko. He can give you the current windows-version with research, upgrades, infiltrators, group movement.
For the future: For us it would be perfect, if you report bugs in the bugtracker.
About the clan-feature: That's next on my personal list and I will start implementing it after the next release.
