Subject: Gold Upgrades and Research
Hi all,

I played a little (well, not just a little) with the original MAX (Version 1.01) and built a large base with much of gold and research centers. Now I can go to make some tables of upgrade/research costs and their benefits, which I then want to integrate in the M.A.X. Reloaded code (I know there already is an implementation, but I want to get as close to the original values as possible - Devs: I'll send you a patch, once I have something...).
If you want to check out the savegame - I'm a little proud of the base Wink (but you'll need 1.01, not the 1.04 patch).

P.S.: Hm. As I just saw MAX crashes when it loads the savegame. I had no problem as long as I was playing, but when loading something causes MAX to crash. Too bad...

well, we have a implementation of research and upgrade formulas, but there are a lot of error and differeces to the original in it. So new formulars (which maybe even support the clans) would be great.

Now I've extracted all the upgrade and research costs and their effects from MAX. I hope that I can implement it soon. The support for clans will be included (of course only the update costs - not the UI and all the other necessary stuff for clans).
But the high upgrade costs for 4 cases are still missing. I could need some help here - non programmers very welcome!

What I need is the following:

- One person who builds a base with the Crimson Path Clan and does a lot of gold mining and refining. Then lookup the upgrade cost values for the Hits of the Gunboat and the Speed of the Escort until MAX doesn't allow further updates (will happen when the costs would be bigger than 799). The numbers I need will look like this (the numbers I wrote are already correct):
Gunboat (Crimson) Hits: 3 - 7 - 15 - 27 - 50 - 84 - 137 - ? - ? - ? - ? - ?
Escort (Crimson) Speed: 10 - 26 - 64 - 137 - 269 - ? - ? - ? - ?

- Another (or the same) person who builds a base with the Griffin Clan and does the same for the Hits of the Personnel Carrier and the Scan of the Radar:
Radar (Griffin) Scan: 6 - 11 - 17 - 27 - 40 - 58 - 84 - 117 - ? - ? - ? - ? - ?
Personnel Carrier (Griffin) Hits: 5 - 15 - 38 - 84 - 168 - ? - ? - ? - ?

If someone would like to do this, it would be great!
Please post here if you do it and the results (so that not several people do the work).

Someone else can do the other one.

Have you considered there might be cost interactions between researched upgrades and purchased upgrades?

About the interactions: Yes, I considered and tested it. There are none.
Research upgrades are independent of purchased upgrades.

For completeness of the upgrades I just researched the final missing values:
Griffin Clan:
Radar Scan (+2 scan per step): 6 - 11 - 17 - 27 - 40 - 58 - 84 - 117 - 163 - 223 - 298 - 396 - 518 - 673 - x
Personnel Carrier Hits (+5 hits per step): 5 - 15 - 38 - 84 - 168 - 319 - 567 - x

Now we have all values for upgrades and research as they can ever appear in the original M.A.X.
After release of the current feature freeze it will be nice to get it running in the game Cool
