Subject: Multiplayer Hosting asks for cd
Hi, I am trying to host a multiplayer game, but when i put on Multiplayer Host, the game asks for the CD. I have an CD on my real driver and on Daemon Tools, but still asking for the CD.
Someone knows what to do?
Thank you.

Sorry for the late reply

You have to change the path in the maxrun.bat and start max with it[maxrun.bat].
it usually looks like

Quote:
Maxrun.exe -fE:\INTRPLAY\MAX
Just change the bold/underlined part to your needs. You can change it like in the example above(considering your path and location of MAX), so it runs completly without a CD in multiplayer.

Non-Dos lenght names aren't working, try to keep that in mind =)
Have fun ;D

and to maxrun.exe -fC:\Intrplay\MAX

You did do a full install, didn't you?

MAX has no kind of copy protection.

Do you use XP or something like that? Try Win98 compat. mode.

So this is basically a dosbox thingy.. no clue about that. I'm using dosemu for this. I do however wonder whether you start maxrun.bat or maxrun.exe. You've to run the bat file for any effect on the cd rom drive.

You might consider taking a look at maxr under downloads. Grab the latest svn version from Eiko on the irc to enjoy some missing features Smiling

i've tried to mount the cd driver, lots comands on dosbox, using the .bat file.
Nothing works. The game always ask for the cd (on multiplayer, single player works fine).
I thing what i need is something like a NO_CD crack.

Thanks.

MAX has _no_ copy protection.

This must be a dosbox thingy.

I'm not familiar with dosbox but I'm sure that there is no need to load a cdrom driver of any kind. Mounting the drive is enough. You can access it with "F:"? Get a dir listening with "dir" from it? Ready to go I'd say.

I read somewhere that the latest dosbox has some issues with MAX. Perhaps an older version can do.

I put a command to mount the driver f:\ and still didnt worked, but dosbox read the cd.

I'm gonna try to use an older version.

And there is some other program like dosbox that i can try?
Thank you.

Thank you all for the help.
I downloaded a patch from http://tauronr.forma-dz.hr/...html#guide and it worked.
The problem was the dosbox.conf from dosbox.
Hugs.
