Subject: Installing in Vista
Hello. I'm sorry if this has been explained already. I'm trying to install MAXR 0.2.5 in Vista 64bit. I have the original MAX game om CD.

Tried to set the original MAX folder to both the CD and the dosbox installed game folder. Neither will make the install button active. What to do?

Waited a long time for the gold/upgrade support to be added in this game, and now when it has I would like to play it against my friends.

I don't use Windows, but all the friends I convinced of playing MAXR do. One of them also had the same problem.
I hope someone with a better understanding of your problem will answer, but until then:
Did you set the path for the original MAX per typing? If not, try that.
Also, the destination folder worked only if it was a new folder created by the installer at the PC of my friend.
Hope that'll help... Sorry that I didn't answer in IRC Disappointed

Manually typing the path didn't work.

And is it from CD or from the install it needs the files? (tried both again)

There indeed is a problem with that installer. I reproduced this on XP, and subscribed to this forum because of this (I am new to MAXR).

A workaround in my case is to first manualy create a destination folder (C:\ProgFiles\MAXR\ for instance), then use the "Browse button" to point to that folder. Creating the folder from the "Browse button" may also work.

Anyway, it should be fixed. This kind of usability problem is a deal-breaker for many potential users.
Now does this deserve a ticket (which I am willing to create), or will it be fixed like, yesterday? Innocent

Cheers
