Subject: MAXR 0.2.5 for Ubuntu
MAXR 0.2.5 for Ubuntu

The debs should work on Hardy, Intrepid, Jaunty and Karmic, but are only tested on Jaunty. For install use dpkg -i

x86x86_64
Debian Package maxr-0.2.5 Debian Package maxr_0.2.5
Debian Package resinstaller-0.5 Debian Package resinstaller-0.5

M.A.X.R. Resinstaller 0.5:
If you happen to own a media of Interplay's M.A.X., you can use the maxr-resinstaller to import media and gain back the original look&feel:

  1. Make sure maxr is installed using the package manager. (dpkg --ignore-depends=maxr -i, may work too, when maxr data is stored under /usr/share/maxr)
  2. Download the maxr-resinstaller and install the package using dpkg -i
  3. Execute the resinstaller as root sudo maxr-resinstaller
  4. Enter the path to the M.A.X. mounted media, and choose the desired language (if applicable)
  5. Take a break Wink
  6. Install the generated maxr-original_0.2.5-1_all.deb sudo dpkg -i /tmp/maxr-original_0.2.5-1_all.deb
  7. Enjoy the teaser and all the fancy sounds and media stuff Wink

For files, build files, diffs and sources used for building these debs checkout http://maxr.tuxli.net/

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Be aware that even though it might be possible to backup maxr_0.2.5-1_[ i386 | amd64 ].deb and maxr-original_0.2.5-1_all.deb onto a external media (f.e. for easy reinstall in case of a system crash), you might violate the original M.A.X. copyright and license if someone else uses that package not owning the original media too.
