Hello!

I'm Leo from France and happy to see that MAX hasn't been forgotten and is even living again in a modern app!

I understand that MAXR wants to be as close as possible to the original game, but here are a few suggestions that may be implemented just as options:

-MAX displays the production number of the enemy units on the unit panel, which is kind of cheating. When you're doing a recon flight around your opponent's settlement and you spot Anti-Air 24 and Mobile Anti-Air 12, you instantly know you'll need a strong air fleet. An option to hide production numbers in MAXR would be interesting in my opinion.

-The AI in MAX cheatingly knows every square that is in the opponents' view range even by submarines. It would be nice to have that ability as only an option in a future MAXR AI.

Well, that's it. Long live MAXR! Happy

You are right, thats a bit strange. But atleastyou can change the production number in the original MAX ( and the complete name as far as I can remember ) so the opponent thinks you have a scout #7 although its the first scout. For me its more of a strategic option in my opinion.

Danke Sal!
I didn't even know the unit name was fully editable.
From now on I'll rename my surveyors "Missile Crawler 148" or such ^^
Just to scare the opponents when they read the event log.

Greetings, yeah maybe just listing the enermy unit class rarther then it's title (or maybe including version member) could be one of the options between classic / enhanced mode gameplay.

Hi Alpha, thinking of it, even the upgrade version could be hidden for some surprises. Just as an option. Anyway these version numbers don't tell about the type of enhancements a unit has. But if you see some "MK XVI" you know there are quite a few research centers buzzing over there.

you would have to hide range / scan circles too on overview, this would make planning attacks hard though Wink

Hehe, indeed. Actually there could exist as many variants to MAX than there are to Chess (and there are loads).
On one end of the spectrum it would almost be a game of perfect information as most board games are, with no room for chance: Map, survey, unit info would be totally unveiled, except for the stealth units.
On the other end it would be much more realistic, nothing would be known in advance, even the health state of an enemy unit.

I liked it most on max that you could check every detail on an enemy unit. And why not? The max universe is high tech. Mechanized war. I mean.. look what Enterprise can "scan" just by triggering one stupid switch Laughing

You can't hide anything in max so you have to use your brain and think about a real strategy to crack an opponents defence (or attack).

It is true, if you know what u are up against u can plan your stats otherwise your just throwing units hoping for the best which would just reduce the game to a tech rush.

I agree too. Actually I'd even like to play without the fog of war. I know surprise is an essential aspect of strategy but there are interesting things to be done without it as well.
