Subject: MAXR 0.2.7 Release
MAXR 0.2.7 Release

One year of development and here it is. We're happy to announce MAXR 0.2.7 with many new features and bugfixes. The Changelog speaks for itself:

1. Releases

Distributionnoarch/universalx86ppcx86_64
Mac OSX >= 10.4 (dmg) -- -- -- Yes maxr-0.2.7
Tux Source (tar.gz) Yes maxr-0.2.7
Yes resinstaller-0.7
-- -- --
Windows Windows (exe) -- Yes maxr-0.2.7 -- No (not yet)

Your download isn't on this list? Check downloads. If it is not there you may help us and create the missing package!

2. Patches

No patches this time. Due to many changes in the source and config and many bugreports we got because of broken installations we want you to reinstall maxr this time.

Manual:

      Package manual.pdf
      Search Frequently Asked Questions
Tux Windows Installation (may be aged - see INSTALL instead)
Tux Windows Building (may be aged - see BUILDING instead)

Important:

Due many changes we recommand a fresh install of MAXR especially when you make use of the resinstaller. Some game resources changed and if you e.g. don't have sound any more you know that you have to rerun resinstaller 0.7.

Info:

If maxr fails to start maxr.log is a good place to start. If you're stucked it might be a good idea to take a look at the manual. Please report crashes, bugs, odd behaivors or differences to the original game on the Bugtracker (login with your forum account and your password).

Hint: Drop by on the IRC to find other players. There is no game lobby or some sort of master server. MAXR is a standalone application and you have to find other players the old way. Ask your friends, on the irc or even on the bbs. Remember about timezones when you party.

Make sure to check the manual for hotkeys and ingame commands.

Job offer: You got some free time and want to get involved? Waste precious leisure time without getting money for it? We're still looking for translators, testers, sound artists, packager for various distros and especially an amiga porter! Just report on the bbs or on the irc or send us a mail/postcard Smiling

Hi Rocky,
I'd like to give that back: You are the best. We may be a tiny community here but without you, the players, this would not exist Cool

I love you all ^.^
I will play it next week or so and give feedback Smiling

edit: maybe I could ask my Ubuntu-using friend if he can compile it, and you can add it to the downloads, should I?

compile is no problem. the package is it.

if he want's to step in as maintainer he's welcome of course.

I use ubuntu and debian for myself but I'm not going to be a maintainer too. I'm busy enough already Wink

Important: Eiko just found a bug that crashs maxr when you do a right click on a unit that stands on rubble of destroyed units/buildings.

Avoid that!

Correct. I wonder why nobody ever reported this on the tracker... This bug must have been in maxr since January 2009. That was release 0.2.4. Surprised

Not so sure about that. Afair saves without clan information won't work.
