This really makes me think of the official Art work that was provided with the original M.A.X. ( I used some of it to fill the music video of the MAX-background music I uploaded here http://www.youtube.com/...4BD5E52376 )

I'm impressed of your Art. Whenever I have an idea to make something again with any MAX-related things, maybe I will use some of your stuff (and of course give proper credit if published).
If you don't mind a little piece if constructive criticism:
Every light source in your pictures seem very realistic, except for this one: http://khesm.deviantart.com/art/Bomber-463606691 The bomber is too bright on the top side, because the lava on the bottom should make a huge contrast to the normal lighting on that place, especially when you consider the dark sky on that place. It also seems the lava makes red light on the stones (which could be because the rocks itself are a bit red?) but on the bomber is only white light. And if you look closely it's a bit too obvious that the bomber in the background is a copy of the front one, because the lighting is nearly identical even that the light sources could have huge differences to their relative positions to light sources on that place.

but really that's the only picture that had some issues, I love the remakes of the unit description pictures.

I agree with the bomber criticism. The picture was made that way because I wanted to replicate the original picture as closely as possible(which has a unfitting light setup and an ugly background aircraft as well).

As you can see in the later pictures I've started deviating more from the original pictures because they have a lot of lightning and perspective artefacts that could be improved upon.

If you have more criticism like this or think any of the changes I've made are unfitting for MAX, let me know as it is very helpful.

I will be going on vacation for a couple of weeks, so it will be a little while before this thread gets another update.

I'm glad I could help. I'm not a professional when it comes to Art of any kind. Maybe I will see something else later, that could be improved.

Take your time. It's cool that you make these pictures, as long you have the time and fun doing it.

I observed similar fyzzo and you're totally right. I wrote some feedback about this already as well. The lights really look off on many pictures but as keshm already sayed: It's really like that in the original pictures. I found a bunch of MAX2 pictures that Sal provided me with years ago and I see the same problems there. So this is really good work by doing it not perfect like this Grinning

Well, MAX2 sucked in a lot of ways as most people will agree so I'm perfectly fine with corrected light setups Laughing
