Subject: Problem loading saved game

I save an in-progress network game, then my opponent and I quit the program. Later, we return to play, I load the game, and we resume play. But we see only a blank map. No units, no buildings, no life of any kind.
I wonder if attempting to use Windows 11 on 64-bit computers might be causing this problem. It always worked fine on my older 32 bit platforms with earlier versions of Windows.
I would appreciate any guidance as to how to overcome this problem.
